You Bet Your Planet is the fifteenth episode in the fourth season of Captain Planet and the Planeteers.

Plot Synopsis[]

The Planeteers find themselves in the most bizarre setting yet: an alien gameshow! They find themselves as forced contestants against the Eco-Villains. The grand prize for the winners is: the life of Captain Planet!

Episode Summary[]

The Planeteers express their concern over Captain Planet's disappearance, as well as their confusion about the current location and mission guided by Gaia. Then, they find themselves on a heavily polluted planet, greeted by an extraterrestrial audience, and introduced as contestants for a gameshow called "You Bet Your Planet" with the host, Lexel Starvack. The Eco-Villains (MAL, Dr. Blight, Hoggish Greedly, Looten Plunder, and Duke Nukem) are revealed as their opponents with the fate of Earth at stake. The Planeteers participate in various challenges against the Eco-Villains without the aid of their rings' powers to overcome unfair obstacles, win the game, free Captain Planet, and protect Earth. With Planet freed, he gets to fight the Eco-Villains and save Earth again. But, it turns out the alien gameshow was all a weird dream to the Planeteers... or is it?

Linka: By recycling glass, aluminum and paper, less waste goes into landfills and we help conserve Earth's limited resources.

Gi: Only when recycled materials make it back into our homes as new products as the cycle concludes.

Gaia: Nature has its own way of dealing with pests. So we have to be careful about our use of chemical pesticides because they can upset the ecosystem and kill the good bugs along with the bad. Even spiders fulfill an important purpose in nature.
Kwame: So if you find one in the house, don't kill it. You can take it outside like this or ask your parents to help.
Linka: And be careful about how you use antibiotics and other medicine because, just like pesticides, you can kill the good germs along with the bad.
All: The power is yours!

Significant Moments and Facts[]

It was said that Captain Planet had been missing for a week after his location is traced, but he should have died if being held captive without any pure light or water, before the aliens started poisoning him.
The challenges are a parody of Double Dare, American Gladiators, and Family Feud.

The only episode to exclude a summoning.
The big mouth is reused for the Season 6 opening sequence.
