Plot Synopsis[]
The Planeteers travel to the Northwest after hearing about an old growth forest which is literally disappearing into thin air. After Wheeler sets out to investigate, along with an attractive local teenage bird watcher, Linka spots a "flying saucer" but they then discover that Hoggish Greedly is the pilot. They discover Greedly's scam – "sucking up" five-hundred-year-old trees to make pressed board furniture.

Planeteer Alerts[]
- First Planeteer Alert
Gaia: Trees help clean our air by absorbing greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide.
Gi: But the world's old-growth forests are being cut down.
Kwame: This clear cutting threatens animals and plants that depend on these tress for their survival.
Linka: And without trees, topsoil washes away, making it harder for the land to recover.
Ma-Ti: Thousands of old-growth trees are cut down every day.
Captain Planet: What can you do? Plant trees! And ask your parents to help you write a letter to your head of state saying you're against cutting down old-growth forests. Remember, the power is yours!
- Second Planeteer Alert
Ma-Ti: They are cutting down more rainforests, Captain Planet.
Wheeler: The world's rainforests are being destroyed at a rate of a football field a second.
Gi: What can we do about it?
Captain Planet: Don't use paper products that are only used once and thrown away.
Gaia: You can recycle newspapers so that new trees won't have to be cut down to make wood pulp.
Kwame: And stand beside the people who are standing up for our forests!
Captain Planet: The power is yours!
Significant Moments and Facts[]
This episode is notable as the only time an Eco-villain was able to neutralize Captain Planet without pollution, through a pure physical attack. Captain Planet has demonstrated the ability to withstand staggering amounts of physical force, so presumably this was only possible due to the fact that he had partially turned himself into wood, making him vulnerable to Greedly's Tree Trasher.
