The Planeteers are on a race against the clock and Nukem to find the cesium and decontaminate the city before the radiation poisoning becomes fatal.

Planeteer Alerts[]
- First Planeteer Alert
Gaia: X-rays and nuclear medicine can help doctors treat disease, but radiation can be dangerous.
Gi: Bleach and other household chemicals may be a big help around the home...
Wheeler: But they're poison if they get inside you.
Gi: So keep all chemicals out of the reach of younger children.
Linka: Or better yet, choose nontoxic alternatives for cleaning like lemon juice, vinegar, and baking soda.
Captain Planet: The power is yours!
- Second Planeteer Alert
Captain Planet: Every year, tons of toxic waste are dumped into rivers, lakes and streams.
Gi: Much of it comes from people's homes.
Wheeler: So to clean up Earth's water, clean up your act!
Ma-Ti: Do not dump chlorine, bleach, solvents, or other toxic materials down your drain.
Linka: And keep things like motor oil and batteries out of your trash!
Kwame: To find an appropriate site to dump these toxic materials, contact your local sanitation department.
Captain Planet: The power is yours!
Significant Moments and Facts[]
This episode is a loose retelling of the Goiânia accident (albeit with a happy ending), a real-life incident that took place in Brazil in 1987, where four people died of radiation exposure after a loose tablet of Cesium-137 was stolen from a broken x-ray machine and ended up in a private residence, where people played with the glowing material, unaware of its' danger.
Wheeler makes a reference to Popeye the Sailor Man, comparing cesium to Duke Nukem with spinach to Popeye.
