Episode Summary[]

Verminous Skumm steals a sacred Indian carving that will make him rich, as well as fund his next operation. The Planeteers are vacationing in New York City, where they came across African carvings, encounter Gray Wolf who claims a stolen carving belongs to his people, and must return it. Ma-Ti notices the carving in a museum gallery and decides to return it back in the cave, but ended up being chased by security, a policeman that rides on his horse, Skumm, and the Rat Pack. While trying to escape from them, he looses his own heart ring with no way to call the other Planeteers. As Ma-Ti attempts to return the carving solo, he receives help of a mysterious figure named Dancing Cloud. Together, they face challenges and overcome obstacles in order to ensure the artifact's safe return. After Ma-Ti gets his ring back, the Planeteers eventually come together, summons Captain Planet, thwart Skumm's plans, and return the ancient relic to its rightful place.

Planeteer Alerts[]

First Planeteer Alert
Alert

Gi: In different cultures, different things are important.
Linka: To one person, a sacred place might be a cathedral.
Wheeler: To another, it could be a monument.
Ma-Ti: Or even simply a mountain.
Gi: People think vandalism is easy to recognize. Graffiti, for example.
Captain Planet: But building something can be vandalism, too, if it damages land that is sacred to someone's culture. We must learn to respect what is important to others and encourage them to respect what is important to us.
All: The power is yours!

Second Planeteer Alert

Gaia: Every 10 years, our planet's population grows by nearly a billion people.
Linka: Soon, there will be more than 6 billion of us sharing Earth's limited resources.
Gi: So not only do we need to make thoughtful choices about family size, but we must start conserving now.
Ma-Ti: Get together with your friends and family and think of ways to reduce your consumption, as well as reuse and recycle.
Wheeler: And start doing them.
Kwame: So we can all have a green tomorrow.
All: The power is yours!

Significant Moments and Facts[]

Quotes[]

  • Wheeler: You know, there's only one thing I hate about New York -- you can never find a parking space!
  • Ma-Ti: Wheeler, over there!
  • Linka: Bad Apple, here we come!
  • Wheeler: Big Apple, Linka.
  • Linka: Big, bad, I still do not understand flying so far for a silly hot dog.
  • Wheeler: A silly hot dog? I'll have you know, every President since George Washington has eaten at this stand.
  • Linka: Really?
  • Wheeler: Okay, maybe not every president, but the ones who didn't wished they had.
  • Ma-Ti: Now, who are you?
  • Dancing Cloud: My name is Dancing Cloud, and we have a common goal -- returning this to its rightful place.
  • Ma-Ti: Let's do it.
  • Wheeler: You're lucky they didn't arrest you, Gray Wolf.
  • Gray Wolf: Here is your friend's ring.
  • Kwame: Are you sure Ma-Ti will try to take the carving back to your people?
  • Gray Wolf: Yes. I just hope those rat people don't follow him.
  • Gi: Rat people?
  • Wheeler: Verminous Skumm! Ma-Ti could be in deep trouble! We'd better find him fast!
  • Linka: But how, without the Geo-Cruiser?
  • Wheeler: There's always the subway.
  • Linka: To New Mexico?
  • Wheeler: No! To the airport! Come on!
