Plot Synopsis[]

Kwame takes the Planeteers to Africa to meet an old friend from his tribe, Dr. Mabutu, who is experiencing trouble on his game ranch. The trouble is Dr. Blight, whose experiments turn ordinary cattle into "raging bulls", which threaten to destroy the entire region. Cattle require more food and water than wild game, and have thus destroyed much of the land already, via desertification. When they go on a rampage, it is up to Captain Planet to hit the trail and corral the "bum steers".

Planeteer Alerts[]

First Planeteer Alert
Alert

Ma-Ti: People are destroying our forests to make land for grazing cattle.
Kwame: When cattle are introduced to areas where they are not native, they can destroy fragile ecosystems with their voracious appetites.
Wheeler:The cattle eat everything and move on. Then the Earth erodes, turning to desert.
Linka:What can you do to help?
Gi: Eat less red meat, and less land will be needed for cattle. You'll be healthier.
Captain Planet: The power is yours!

Second Planeteer Alert

Captain Planet: The health of our planet relies on the health of its people.
Wheeler: To reach the highest heights...
Linka: ... and win the fight to save our planet...
Ma-Ti: ... we must have strength...
Kwame: ... endurance...
Gi: ... and courage!
Wheeler: Our minds...
Linka: ...and our bodies must be in shape!
Commander Clash: Stay fit!
Captain Planet: The power is yours!

Significant Moments and Facts[]

  • At one point the part of Doctor Blight's hair which normally covers the left side of her face is actually on the right, thus showing where the scar should be but isn't.

Quotes[]

Dr. Mabutu (after Wheeler fixes the fence with his fire power): Your powers are truly amazing! I wish we could harness such power to save our way of life.

Wheeler: Isn't that what this fence is for?

Dr. Mabutu: Fences are not our way of life. Ironically, I must use them to keep out the cattle. But they also harm migrating wildebeest and other animals.

Chief Kofi (after recovering from passing out): Those hamburgers made me feel strange. I wanted to hurt things. Was it a dream?

Wheeler: I'd say more like a nightmare.

Ma-Ti: It was the chemicals in the meat, Kofi. They made you act that way.
